| The
Bible teaches that we should worship the Living God from our
heart rather than singing songs “religiously” or “just
going through the motions”.
Throughout the Bible there are verses
which instruct us to praise the Lord and the way in which we are
to do it. Below are a few “WHYS” mentioned in the word of God---The
Bible.
Why do we sing?
“Let
the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you admonish one
another with all wisdom, and as you sing Psalms, Hymns and
Spiritual Songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.”
Colossians 3:16
Why do we clap?
“Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with
cries of Joy”
Psalm 47:1
Why
do we lift our hands? “Lift
up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.” Psalm 134 :2
Why do we
shout?
“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord…make a loud noise
and rejoice and sing praises." Psalm 98:4
Why do we
dance? “Let
them praise His Name with dancing:;
Let them sing praises to Him with timbrel and Lyre.”
Psalm 149:3
“Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise him in His mighty
expanse. Praise Him
for His mighty deeds; Praise
Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with trumpet and sound;
Praise Him with harp and lyre.
Praise Him with timbrel and dancing;
Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe.
Praise Him with loud cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals;
Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!"
Psalm 150
