"And I say to you, ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you.
For everyone who asks, receives; and he who seeks, finds; and to him who knocks, it shall be opened."

Great! Light
of the World Church wants to be the kind of ministry that takes your
toughest questions seriously.
At Light of the World Church, we believe in worshiping
with our heart, soul and mind. We
realize that in so many instances, a person’s mind must be persuaded
before the heart and soul will follow.
What is Christianity?
Christianity can be confusing. It sometimes seems like a never-ending set of rules,
regulations and religious goals to meet.
Simply, Christianity is all about creating and building a personal
relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; a close intimate
relationship that will lead you to find true peace, hope, meaning in
life, and that relationship will lead to eternal life with God.
What is Salvation?
The good news is that Heaven is a free gift! In fact, there
is nothing you can do to earn salvation. Of course, no gift exchange is
ever complete until the gift offered becomes a gift accepted!
When Jesus Christ came down from Heaven to earth and died on the
cross, He paid for our sins. He purchased us a place in Heaven, which He now offers to us
as a free gift that is received through faith. Salvation is the
eternal life with God.
How do I become Saved?
It is as simple as ABC:
- A - Admit you are a sinner and need to be saved
- B - Believe that Jesus died for your sins
- C - Confess with your mouth that Jesus is your Savior
Now is the time…
If you have never trusted Jesus as your Lord and Savior and invited
Him into your life, you can do it right now. If you are not sure that you are a Christian, now is the
perfect time to make sure.
Trust the Lord right now and ask Him to save you. You
can do this by praying the prayer of salvation. Click
here for this prayer.
Still not sure...
Perhaps this is the right time for you to start an honest examination
of what Christianity is all about.
Please read on, and consider, if you were to die today where
would you spend eternity? Do you care?
If you don’t, then continue doing what you have been doing, if
you do, this information will help start you on your investigative
journey.
Contemplate the following questions that many people frequently ask,
and see how the Bible answers these questions with scriptures.
Research those scriptures and understand that Jesus died for your
sins. He defeated death and
the Devil; He rose again on the third day; He is alive and well and sits
at the right hand of the Father in Heaven.
Because He lives, you can live too…forever with Him in Heaven.
I am a good and moral person, so why do I need
to be saved? In fact, I am
nicer than many of those so-called Christians.
Sin involves more than just murder and adultery.
Everyone sins because less obvious things such as greed, envy and
deception are also sins. Since
we can never work our way into God’s favor, and He wants all of us to
be saved, God sent Jesus to pay for our sins.
Jesus is the way to mend our relationship with God.
Think about it, if we had to earn our way, how many good deeds
are enough? There are no
biblical statements that claim judgment day is a comparison of people
where God grades on a curve. God
does not say…are you better than average?.. Well, let’s keep him…
or, Wow, this one here is really bad, let’s throw him back…here
Satan, you can have him. On
judgment day, God compares each one of us to HIM, and all our sins are
left exposed. Remember, God
is the standard for comparison, not our friends and relatives. (Romans
3:23, John
3:3, Romans
6:23, John
3:16-18, Romans
10:9-10, Galatians
5:19-21, Philippians
2:5, Ephesians
4:22-24)
Why would a loving God send someone to Hell?
God is Love. God has this
incredible love for us, and He wants us to share it with Him.
But, for love to exist, it must involve a choice.
God will not force us into a loving relationship with Him.
He will never override our “free will to choose”.
We make the choice to have a relationship with God or not.
If we choose not to, because, God did not force us to accept Him
while we were living, He will not force us to live with Him for
eternity. If you did not
want Him in life, why would you want Him in death?
If we suppress God’s evidence all our life and reject Him, God
gives us what we wanted… Eternity apart from Him, or Hell. God does not send us to Hell, we choose it over Him.
(2
Corinthians 5:10, Romans
14:12,
Psalms 9:17, 2
Thessalonians 1:8-9, Revelation
21:7-8)
Why do I need to be Baptized?
Baptism is not a condition for salvation. If it were, then people in the
desert, who believed in their hearts and confessed that Jesus is savior,
with no water to be baptized, could not be saved. This is not
true. Baptism is an outward sign of an inward change. We do it because
Jesus did it first. (Matthew
3:13-15, Acts
2:38, Acts
19:4-5, Galatians
3:26-27, 1
Peter 3:21)
What is faith? And why do I need it?
Faith is believing in something or someone without personally seeing it
happen or knowing the person involved. We exercise our faith
everyday. Our lives depend on faith. We have faith in our laws
designed to protect us and that people will follow those laws. For
example, we have faith that people, whom we don't know, will follow all
of the traffic laws designed to keep us safe. If we don't have faith in
our laws and the willingness of people to follow those laws, the
lawlessness will ensue and our safety is in jeopardy.
It is the same with our faith in Jesus and what He did for us on the
cross. To spend eternity with God, we must have faith that Jesus
died on the cross for our sins and that he rose from the grave, although
we did not personally see it happen. (Hebrews
11:1, Hebrews
11:6, Ephesians
2:8-9, Romans
5:1)
Is there any sin that God will not forgive?
Yes. That sin is called
blasphemy, which means giving Satan the glory for work done by the Holy
Spirit. (Matthew
12:30-32, Hebrews
10:26-29)
What is prayer and why should I pray?
Prayer is simply talking to God. He
hears everything we say. He
wants to communicate with us, so we must start the conversation, then
wait on an answer. (Psalms
34:15, 17-18,
Matthew
21:22, Mark
11:24-25, John
14:13-14,
James 5:13, 16,
1
Thessalonians 5:17, Ephesians
6:18, Philippians
4:6)
Still
have questions and need answers?
At Light of the World Church we make every effort
to meet the needs of those in our community. God reached out to us, now we want to reach out to you.
Please, do not consider any question too “stupid” or
meaningless for us to answer. We
want to help. Please
get in touch with us; we look forward to serving you.
God loves you and wants you to know Him.
Are
you ready to accept Jesus? Pray this:
“Lord Jesus, I know You love me, because you
died for my sins. Thank you
Jesus for doing that for me. I
admit that I have sinned-against others, and against myself but most of
all against you. Please
forgive me for my sins, and give me Your power to resist the temptation
to sin. I believe that you
rose from the dead, and that You are the only true God.
I ask that you come into my life and live at the center of it.
Please accept me, by faith I accept you, Jesus.
Thank you for giving me eternal life with You.”
If you honestly mean that prayer, Jesus takes you
seriously. He causes you to
be born again. This is not
the end but rather the beginning of a brand new way of living.
Here are four ways to help you live for Jesus:
- Tell
someone what you have done. (Romans
10:9-10) It is important to “go on record” or confess with
your mouth that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
Tell someone who knows you well enough to notice a difference that
Jesus will be making in your life. We would also like to
know. Click here on how to contact
us.
- Begin
reading you Bible. (2
Timothy 2:15) Start with the Gospel of John.
Read some of the Bible every day. Click
here for a Daily Bible Reading Plan at our Study Center.
- Pray
every day. (1
Thessalonians 5:17)Prayer is simply talking to God. He wants to hear from you.
Tell Him your high points and ask Him to help you through
your rough spots.
- Go to church regularly. (Proverbs
27:17) The church is God’s family here on
earth. You’ll want to
be with your church family as frequently as possible for study and
service, friendship and fun. If you are in Houston, Texas
area, we invite you to visit us and let us know what you have
done. We would like to be your church family. Click
here for directions to LOTW Church.

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Hebrews 13:20-21 (KJV)
